Description: Parque Nacional Palo Verde lies at the mouth of Tempisque River and is known for its dry and wet ecosystems. It has fifteen distinct habitats such as dry tropical forests, mangroves, grasslands and scrub land. The park is home for crocodiles, mammals and vast flocks of water birds. After the rainy season it is home for 250,000 migratory birds, such as teal, geese and ducks that winter in the park. Palo Verde is best explored during the dry season (November to March).
